Approximately twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems swept through the region, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Substantial Ice Stones and Extensive Impact
Locals reported substantial frozen pellets reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across the state had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Rescue organizations handled 598 requests for assistance across the state, mostly for property damage but also for fallen timber and inundation.

Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent thunderstorm potential predicted across various areas of both areas.
Medical Alert
Public health experts cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
